Organized and supported by Lane13 Consulting and the Chad Lake Foundation, the Collaborative meets monthly to identify challenges, share lived experiences, and develop solutions to improve Kentucky’s justice system. Together, members turn lived experience into action through education, legislative advocacy, organized lobby days, and a shared legislative priority.

We are working to make this training an industry-recognized credential and partner with prisons, jails, reentry organizations, and community-based service providers across Kentucky. Through this initiative, facilities can prepare qualified reentry specialists to connect individuals with employment, housing, treatment, education, benefits, and other essential resources.

By strengthening Kentucky’s reentry workforce, we can improve outcomes, reduce barriers, and ensure that people returning home receive informed, ethical, and effective support. Because everyone deserves a RESET.

Second Chance Strategies offers comprehensive Lobbying and Advocacy Training designed to equip directly impacted individuals, students, community leaders, and everyday people with the knowledge, confidence, and practical tools to advocate for meaningful change.
Participants learn how the legislative process works, how to communicate effectively with elected officials, share their stories with purpose, develop policy priorities, build coalitions, and participate in lobby days and other advocacy efforts. This training helps people understand that their experiences and perspectives are powerful—and that their voices can influence policies, strengthen communities, and create lasting change.
